To be truthful it took me many years to find my inner witch, I was not in a place to look inward. But as I found my mental health slowly improving, I discovered that Spiritually I being drawn to something. I have always loved and highly regarded the belief that the energies you put out in the universe can come back to you. I always believed that good bogot good and bad, well, I have always felt "evil" was real. But something about Wicca and Witchcraft felt almost, calming to me.

I had my first experience with "the craft" in my early 20's. My best friend is a practioneer and invited me to a Mabon ceremony. I witness four women give thanks, laugh, smile, and be strong in themselves, and of course there WAS FOOD!!!! So much food!!! I was hooked! I would be lying if I didn't admit that my favorite part of all of this is the feasting and sharing food with others. (As a Greek, sharing food is a love lanaguage).
I walked away from magic for a few more years after that. A bad relationship, growing up, getting married, going back to school, getting my Master's degree, life "got in the way" for awhile. But all this time I was being pulled, pulled back to a sense of safety and calm. I know now that was Hecate calling me, like the awesome Aunt who wants you to be the best version of yourself. I ended up on a random day calling my best friend and telling her, "I'm feeling the pull." We talked and talked, and I made a conscious decision to start practicing.
I started slow, always taking my time to do what felt right. Never forcing spells, lots of reading, and figuring out the parts that I enjoyed. I slowly discovered what my "craft" looked like for me, but mostly it taught me to take care of myself, something that I had lacked for a long time. It's allowed me to be crafty, use my hands, enact self-care, find the present, and connect with the world around me. But most of all it's taught me to be the most authentic version of myself.
Finding you inner witch, is finding who you are as a person. It's finding out the parts you like and the parts you don't like. But most of all, its finding out that you are worthy and good enough. Often in today's world we are taught that we are never good enough or are unworthy of good things, or love, or what not. But that simply isn't true. You are worthy of so much, you are good enough, and sometimes, just sometimes a little magic can help us believe that.
